Pigskin5 is an independent fan-made NFL trivia game available at pigskin5.com. This site is operated by Thomas Allen (also known online as Twillyallen or @TwillysTakes) on X/Twitter.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2) Quick Summary

• You can play anonymously. No account is required to play the daily quiz.
• Accounts require email. Posting to the leaderboard, saving streaks to your account, and receiving optional reminders require a free account, which requires an email address.
• Local game data stays on your device if you don't sign in. Signed-in users' streaks and play history are stored on our servers.
• We use cookies for analytics, advertising (Google AdSense), and keeping you signed in.

3) Information We Collect

A) Information You Provide (Optional)

If you submit to the daily leaderboard, we collect:

• Display name (the name you choose)
• Quiz score
• Average completion time (or similar timing metric)
• Date of the daily quiz

We do not require email addresses, phone numbers, or real names for leaderboard submissions.

B) Local Storage (Stored on Your Device)

Pigskin5 uses your browser’s local storage to save game progress on your device. This may include:

• Daily quiz completion status
• Daily streak count
• Touchdown/perfect-game streak count
• Previous quiz results
• Local settings or preferences (if applicable)

This local storage data is stored on your device and is not transmitted to us unless you choose to submit a score to the leaderboard. You can clear local storage at any time through your browser settings.

C) Account Data (If You Create an Account)

If you create an account, we collect and store on our servers:

• Email address (used for sign-in links and optional reminders)
• Username (a public handle you choose)
• Display name (the name shown on the leaderboard, which you can change)
• Your quiz attempts: date, score, time, and choices made
• Streak counts (current and longest)
• Your timezone and optional reminder time preferences
• Whether you've opted into email reminders
• Dates you accepted our Terms of Service

Account data is stored via Supabase, our backend service provider. See Section 7 for more.

4) Cookies, Consent, and Tracking Technologies

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device. They help websites function, understand usage, and (in some cases) show relevant ads. We may also use similar technologies like local storage and pixels.

6) Email Communications

If you have an account, we may send:

• Optional reminder emails: daily notifications when a new quiz is available. These are sent only if you opt in, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any reminder email.

We do not sell your email address or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

7) Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information in the following situations:

• Service providers: We use the following to operate Pigskin5:
  • Supabase (database, authentication, and hosting of account data)
  • GitHub Pages (website hosting)
  • Google AdSense (advertising)
  • Google Analytics (site usage analytics, if applicable)
  • Resend (sending transactional and reminder emails, when enabled)
  These providers process data on our behalf to provide their services.
• Legal requirements: if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
• Site protection: to protect Pigskin5, our users, or the public (e.g., preventing abuse).

8) Third-Party Links

Pigskin5 may link to third-party sites (for example, Twitter/X). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites. Please review their policies directly.

9) Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9a) Data Retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your email, username, and preferences from our active systems within 30 days. Leaderboard submissions may be retained in anonymized form (without your username or email) for historical integrity.

10) Children’s Privacy

Pigskin5 is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

11) Your Choices

• Local data: clear local storage through your browser settings to reset streaks/results.
• Cookies: manage cookies via your browser settings and (if present) our cookie banner.
• Leaderboard: you can choose not to submit your score.
• Account deletion: you can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.
• Email preferences: unsubscribe from reminder emails via the link in any such email.
• Sign out: you can sign out at any time using the "Hi, username" button in the site navigation.

12) Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. There is no uniform standard for interpreting DNT signals, so we do not respond to them in a specific way.

13) International Users

Pigskin5 is operated in the United States. If you access the site from outside the U.S., your information may be processed in the U.S. By using Pigskin5, you understand and consent to this processing.

California residents may have rights under applicable privacy laws (including the CCPA/CPRA), such as the right to request access or deletion of personal information. Pigskin5 does not sell personal information.
